Arts Network Asia (ANA), set up by an independent group of artists, cultural workers and arts activists from Asia, is an enabling grant body working across borders in multiple disciplines that encourages and supports regional artistic collaboration as well as develops managerial and administrative skills within Asia. ANA is motivated by the philosophy of meaningful collaboration, distinguished by mutual respect, initiated in Asia and carried out together with Asian artists and arts communities. It operates in 11 languages.

ANA is a forum for Asia’s expression and its relationship to the rest of the world. It recognizes the cultural diversity and pluralisms of Asia, and looks at the continuum that is Asia, from tradition to contemporary urban life. In particular, Arts Network Asia is about collaborations, research, networking, and dialogues across cultures. It is a network where individuals from around the world, through residencies and projects, and develop local communities in Asia. It pays attention to the diverse perspectives of a global Asian urban metropolis, the continuities and disruptions with Asian tradition, and the multiple contexts of everyday life.

ANA was founded in 1999 by Ong Keng Sen. It was hosted and managed by T:>Works from 1999 to 2003. Five Arts Centre (Malaysia) hosted the network from 2004 to 2006. ANA is currently hosted once again by T:>Works at 72-13 Singapore from 2007 to the present.

Currently, the ANA Peer Panel comprises of: Dinh Q. Le (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), Gridthiya Gaweewong (Bangkok, Thailand), Marco Kusumawijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia), Nikko Zapata (Manila, Philippines) and Ong Keng Sen (Singapore, Singapore).
