Registration Fee: $55/- (Inclusive of meals)
The much loved, annual 24-Hour Playwriting Competition invites you to be part of its 2023 edition! This year the competition returns to the on-site sleepover at Figment Club House. Situated in the heart of a quaint street in Geylang, Figment Club House is one of the eight carefully conserved shophouses that seamlessly integrates contemporary design and creative functionality with the traditional charm of the archetypal shophouse form. It serves as a platform for cultural expression, within a neighbourhood full of eclectic, historical richness, quirky charm and old-world calm.
In classic competition tradition, the themed element will be revealed on the day of the competition, and various stimuli will be provided throughout the 24 hours, which you will need to incorporate into your script. Your submitted script can be a 10 to 20 minutes performance piece (est. 8 – 15 pages). We welcome you to let your imagination run wild — to write plays for stage, digital and hybrid possibilities.
Winners may get a chance to see their entries staged by T:>Works! An added bonus: Mentorship and support by established playwrights, directors, actors and producers to develop the works for either ‘live’ and/or digital stages.

Participate in our playwriting workshop Don’t fret. Just write. by playwright and director Chong Tze Chien!
Chong Tze Chien invites emerging and new writers, and any one interested in scriptwriting as a medium, to attend this 2.5-hour workshop. Aptly titled Don’t fret. Just write., it encourages playfulness with the craft of writing.
