The AGEncy Fund believes in ageing well and with agency.
The AGEncy Fund, set up by independent arts company T:>Works, is an enabling micro-grant platform to provide vital resources for individuals aged 60 and above. The fund can be used to develop new works, build their capacity and foster meaningful connections across generations. The AGEncy Fund recognises that mature individuals still have decades of wisdom to contribute and share to Singapore’s cultural and wider landscape, and champions a future where creativity knows no age.
One of the objectives of the The AGEncy Fund is to explore the potential of intergenerational discourse and complementation. The AGEncy Fund primarily supports processes as opposed to products.
The AGEncy Fund publicly encourages and supports projects by mature individuals through an open call with Project Grants, juried by a Peer Panel working in diverse disciplines and spaces. The AGEncy Fund is set up and supported by T:>Works, and funded by the public and by the Cultural Matching Fund, MCCY.
Ageing never happens in isolation; it is always happening in connection with life and community.
Projects can be initiated and implemented solo, or in a team of mature or intergenerational individuals, centering the agency of mature individuals. Projects may engage with intergenerational discourse, in particular on the continuities of relating to different generations, linking memories, wisdoms, legacies and future sustainabilities. We welcome projects that are engaged with, and actively interface with communities. Projects can include but are not limited to different forms of expressions: activations, community engagement, performance, literature, digital projects, visual arts, sound/music, film/video/new media, design/architecture, traditional arts, critical discourse, or any form of public expression.
We believe that such a grant scheme is the most participatory way to approach a broad and inclusive base responding to the needs of ageing individuals. Hence, the projects should move towards empowerment, autonomy, inclusivity, mutual understanding, dialogue and diversity on the topic of ageing wellness in life and community.
The AGEncy Fund includes the following as its criteria for selection:
(1) Independent and process-oriented projects, rather than product-orientated projects, (2) Projects can be existing or new, (3) Projects can be individual phases of larger projects extending beyond January 2027, (4) Continuity and sustainability of projects, (5) Projects that empower and capacity-build communities, (6) Visibility of the project e.g. events and project website, (7) Presence of other sources of funding will be viewed positively, (8) Projects can be multilingual, and (9) Artistic merit of the project or its positive impact on ageing within cultures.
AGEncy Fund project grants will be selected by a Peer Panel with expertise in different disciplines, and may be up to a maximum of SGD10,000 for each project.
Applications are accepted via an online form, and due by 15 April 2026.
Successful applications will be informed in July 2026.
Please note: T:>Works staff and directors, the Peer Panel members, and all respective partners/spouses/organisations cannot apply to this open call.
